The school has been
in operation since 1854 and as such is the longest running school
in Nepal. It has about 350 students with ages ranging from 6 to
17 years old. Currently, there are 25 teachers serving the school.
Madan Memorial Girls' High School
This is a semi-government
school located in Patan, the second city of Kathmandu recently declared
as a sub-metropolitan city. It has been in operations since 1959.
To date, there are about 1300 students of an age range between 6 to
17 years old. There are currently 39 teachers and 11 adminstrative
staff serving the school.
Tika Vidyashram Secondary
School
Established in 1950 by the local community,
this school recieved recognition from the government as a middle
school in 1951 and later upgraded to a secondary school in 1977.
Students attending this school sit for School Leaving Certificate
Examination at the end of their course. Since 1973, the school started
recieving annual financial assistance from the government. At present,
the school recieves an annual fund of about Rs. 10,00,000/- from
the government. It has a students population of approximately 500
students with ages ranging from 6 to 17 years old. There are currently
23 teachers serving the school.
